## Viewing a metric

1. Go to **Reports** in the navigation
2. Select a dashboard or browse **All Metrics**
3. Click on any metric to see its detailed chart and data

## Creating a report

1. Click **Add Report** or **New Report**
2. Choose a report type:

| Type | Best for |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------------------ |
| **Chart (Trends)** | Tracking metrics over time as line or bar charts |
| **Count** | Displaying a single number or KPI |
| **Funnel** | Measuring conversion through multiple steps |

3. Configure your data source:

| Data source | Description |
| ---------------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **Object-based** | Count or aggregate records and events |
| **Formula** | Calculate new numbers by combining existing metrics. For example, divide Expansion MRR by Total MRR to see what percentage of your revenue comes from upgrades |
| **KPI** | Use a pre-built standard metric |

* **Both** — Show the chart and data table side by side

## Time ranges and granularity

Use the time range selector to choose the period for your report:

* **Quick ranges** — 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year
* **Custom dates** — Pick specific start and end dates
* **Relative** — "Last 30 days," "Past 2 months," etc.

The time granularity (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly) adjusts automatically based on your selected range, but you can override it manually.

## Comparing periods

Compare your current data against a previous time period to spot trends:

1. Click the **Compare** dropdown on any report
2. Choose a comparison period: Previous period, 1 day ago, 7 days ago, 1 month ago, 3 months ago, or 1 year ago
3. Choose how to display the comparison:

| **Difference** | Shows the absolute change between periods |

3. Select a property to break down by
4. Add multiple breakdowns and drag to reorder them

## Exporting data

1. Open any report
2. Click the **Export** button
3. Choose **Excel (.xlsx)** or **CSV**
4. The file downloads automatically with a timestamped filename
