What are reports?

Reports let you visualize and analyze your business data. You can build custom charts, track key metrics, and export data for further analysis.

Pre-built metrics

The Subscription Analytics add-on includes 35+ pre-built SaaS metrics organized by category.

Revenue (monthly)

  • MRR — Monthly Recurring Revenue
  • New MRR — Revenue from new customers
  • Expansion MRR — Revenue from upgrades and add-ons
  • Contraction MRR — Revenue lost from downgrades
  • Churn MRR — Revenue lost from cancellations
  • Reactivation MRR — Revenue from returning customers

Revenue (annual)

  • ARR — Annual Recurring Revenue

  • Net Revenue Retention (NRR) — Revenue kept including upsells. Above 100% means you are growing from existing customers

Viewing a metric

  1. Go to Reports in the navigation
  2. Select a dashboard or browse All Metrics
  3. Click on any metric to see its detailed chart and data

Creating a report

  1. Click Add Report or New Report
  2. Choose a report type:

  1. Configure your data source:

FormulaCalculate new numbers by combining existing metrics. For example, divide Expansion MRR by Total MRR to see what percentage of your revenue comes from upgrades

  1. Select a visualization (see chart types below)
  2. Add optional breakdowns to segment data by property, such as region or plan
  3. Save your report

Report view modes

You can toggle how your report is displayed:
  • Chart — Show only the chart visualization
  • Table — Show only the data table
  • Both — Show the chart and data table side by side

Time ranges and granularity

Use the time range selector to choose the period for your report:
  • Quick ranges — 7 days, 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, 1 year
  • Custom dates — Pick specific start and end dates
  • Relative — “Last 30 days,” “Past 2 months,” etc.
The time granularity (hourly, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly) adjusts automatically based on your selected range, but you can override it manually.

Comparing periods

Compare your current data against a previous time period to spot trends:
  1. Click the Compare dropdown on any report
  2. Choose a comparison period: Previous period, 1 day ago, 7 days ago, 1 month ago, 3 months ago, or 1 year ago
  3. Choose how to display the comparison:

Adding breakdowns

Breakdowns split your data by a property so you can see how a metric varies across segments. For example, view MRR broken down by country.
  1. Open a report’s configuration
  2. Click Add Breakdown
  3. Select a property to break down by
  4. Add multiple breakdowns and drag to reorder them

Exporting data

  1. Open any report
  2. Click the Export button
  3. Choose Excel (.xlsx) or CSV
  4. The file downloads automatically with a timestamped filename
