What is Recovery Rate?

Recovery Rate is the percentage of at-risk accounts that you successfully saved. An account is “at risk” when a payment fails or a subscription is set to cancel. It’s “recovered” when the payment succeeds or the cancellation is revoked.

How to Calculate It

Recovery Rate = Recovered accounts / At-risk accounts × 100
Example:
  • Accounts with failed payments or pending cancellations: 20
  • Accounts where payment was recovered or cancellation was revoked: 14
Recovery Rate = 14 / 20 × 100 = 70%

Why It’s Useful

It tells you how effective your recovery efforts are — dunning emails, payment retries, and save offers. A low recovery rate means revenue is slipping away that could be saved. Bigdelta calculates this automatically from your payment and subscription data.
